It has been a while since I used CDs's designs.  I had a couple of kits from her that I hadn't used yet, so this was a great opportunity to use the dancing one.

SOSN at The Lilypad -- Pink Reptile Designs

I did something interesting in this layout.  I combined two templates into one.  We did this in MOC 2015 at the Lilypad in January.  It was quite challenging but fun.

The photos are not my favorites as it shows Ewan resisting a kiss, but it is real life.  Boys are funny about affection at that age.  I wish there could have been sound effects with the layout because there was a lot of laughing going on.

Slow Scrap at The Lilypad

I love the slow scraps that the Lilypad has because you have an entire day to get the layout finished and there is a participation prize.  I was at BSF when the Chat was happening but had lots of time to complete the page.  Again, I'm using etc. by Danyale designs since she is a guest designers for one more month.  I want to use her stuff as much as possible since she may not be in the shop after October.  I hope Laura will invite her to stay, though.

This layout required circles which I don't usually use, so this was a stretch for me.  I got to use an interior shadow which is also not my usual shadow (that made it look like a cut-out shape).

I used a new kit that I've not used in any layouts before.  I was inspired by the blue color and creative photo treatment of the inspiration layout.

For my creative treatment, I made a b/w copy of the photo.  I put a layer mask on the b/w photo layer and put the color version beneath the b/w version in the layers palette.  I erased the b/w section that covered Alexis and Rachel.  I used a greatly reduced opacity eraser on the rest of the scene.

Anna Aspnes Color Challenge -- September 25

I liked the color palette for this week very much.  It was another chance to use my new Anna Aspnes goodies.  I used two different methods to recolor the background paper.  I cloned out the Christmas tree that was behind Greg and Alexis.  I think it turned out pretty great.  Since the colors were so pastel in the layout, I turned the photo B/W so not to compete with them as the photo was so Christmasy.

I was going to use the photo of a dog riding in a side car but came across this truck photo with Ewan in the background and thought an interesting treatment would be cool.  I brightened the photo in RadLab and then applied a sketch filter called Chrome.  I layered it over a plain color version of the photo and applied the screen mode to the stylized photo.  I erased the chrome style on Ewan's face so he would be recognizable.  I added lots of street graffiti type brushes.

Yippee Skippy, I Won!! And Digi Dare #420

I won the Digi Dare 419 with this layout:

So I was really motivated to make a layout for the next Dare #420.  It is sponsored by Jennifer Labre.  She had asked me to join her CT when I was CT for Scrap Stacks.  Though I liked her designs very much, she is at a different store than The Lilypad and I just wasn't up to checking in daily at two stores.  Sadly, I didn't use any of her designs in this layout, it just worked out that way, it wasn't intentional.

The dare was to use some glitter, paint and one photo with some inspiration from a 1978 song by Earth, Wind and Fire "September".  My title and the blue in the photo are inspired by the lyrics.

Good, good news!! I am a CT for Pink Reptile Designs!!

Mirjam contacted me today and invited me to stay on her CT permanently.  I am beyond excited!  I spent the morning creating PRD folders in ACDSee and add a board for her on Pinterest.  It reminded me of a layout I made for a blog post (that actually didn't need LOs from the CT).  So I'm posting it today.

I had more than 7 of the picks this time.  I managed to use 6 designers from the Picks list and one guest designer.  I figured a clustery layout would sbe the best, so I used another Fiddle-Dee-Dee Designs template.  I used a photo of Rachel from a quick visit she had at Lexie's house.  She sure does enjoy Walter.

September BYOC Challenge at The Lilypad

I used 4 designer for this layout.  I tried out a templete from Cheryl, Fiddle-Dee-Dee Designs.  I followed the example of Ellen T. from the Pad for my clustering style.  These photos from a trip to the nursery worked really well with the colors.
