Art Journal layout for Nicole

Nicole at Sugarplum Paperie is about the only designer that puts together kits that work for Art Journaling.  I wanted to use her Featured Favorite for September 2nd.  It was a bit of a labor since I had done another layout only a couple of hours ago.  I think it is an authentic one about me though.  The photo was an terribly unflattering selfie taken at the Linbergh pool during Vivi's swim lesson, but RadLab saved the day.  I think it turned out okay for the page.

I downloaded Karla's latest kit because I LOVED the preview of one of the templates.  Once I tried to bring the template into my document I discovered that it couldn't be altered very much; many of the layers were locked.
I made it as different from the preview as I could using as many different parts of the kit as possible.  I hope she will like it.

Last day of swim lessons...

Vivian got to go down the giant water slide at the end of her last session of swim lessons at Lindbergh Pool.  She was really brave to go up the giant steps and to slide down.  I captured her expression as she exited the slide.  It is priceless.
She did a great job during the 2 weeks of lessons and made great strides.  She dunked, got her hair wet, showered by herself in the dressing room and leapt off the side of the pool without holding on to the instructor.  She will need to repeat this session until she can bob under the water at least 5 times.  Multiple bobs or not everyone is so proud of her!

Recipe Challenge

I did a layout for a recipe challenge at P&C.  I can't post it until Friday since the kit won't be released until then.  The recipe called for a template, flowers, stitches, brads, stamps, tags/labels, glitter.  I don't actually have any glitter on here.  I can't qualify for the prize so I don't think it will matter.

3-D Hybrid Baby Card

It has been a challenge to get this project done.  I got the idea while in bed.  My inspiration was the book Goodnight Moon.  Messing with the glue, getting it all over everything, spilling 3 boxes of buttons reminds me why I love digital.  I admit it was fun to get out the string, buttons and ribbon to embellish the card.

I also had a TERRIBLE time getting a good exposure for the photo.  I had great light with the front door open, but everything except the card was very dark.  Once I closed the door and relied on soft light, I got a better photo.

I have been waiting for my computer to get fixed (thank you Greg) and for Gennifer to make a new kit for August.  Well, the computer is up and running but Gennifer hasn't put out a new kit.  Needing to make two layouts for her, I used her most frequent kit which is a food theme kit.  I couldn't really use the theme, but did find some colors and elements that would go with a template I really like that Gennifer put out quite a long time ago.  See what you think...
