Selfie Snapshot

I just love the selfie I took and I bought this Snapshot kit just for photos like it.  I've done the layout three different ways but settled on this one as the best.

Shameless selfie....

I took this selfie the last time Ewan stayed for the night.  For once, it turned out nicely.

First April layout...

I finished one of the layouts needed for my designer for April.  She is a template designer.  Her kit was a bit too cutesy for my taste, but I think I made it work.  I had to redo the photo coloring a couple of times to find a tint that I liked.  I ended up using Lights On, Boring Old B/W; Magical B/W from RadLab.

Another layout for Tiffany Tillman

I have been bummed that Tiffany didn't produce anything new for March.  I did two layouts with some older template kits, but I wanted to do one more.  I picked something that could use a large picture.  I had a dickens of a time duplicating the title work she did on the template.  I finally got it after 4 tries.  I needed to expand the selection, then put the Gaussian Blur filter on the stroke.  Once I had the outline figured out, I spent an hour deciding on the font color.  I finally settled with the first color I had chosen, but reduced it and added the word art from Kim Brodelet's kit.

March Art Journal Challenge

This isn't necessarily a true Art Journaling page since it has photos on it.  I have wanted to do a part sketch type layout for a while so I put the technique to use with Nancie Rowe Janitz's challenge for March -- Daydreams.

Another layout

I wanted to use a specific template kit, so I downloaded a kit by Audacious Designs because I loved the green color.  I cropped a picture of me, Lexie and Vivian so it would just be me and Alexis.  I wasn't as thrilled with the kit as I thought I would be.  The designer did not put texture into her papers which I thought made it look like of flat.

I love the Moments in Time kit.

I am on a roll with RadLab and Kim B's Moment in Time kit.  I really enjoyed working with this photo about Buddy.
I had to do a lot of content aware cloning to erase the TV cords and then I needed to do some color cast correction to take away a pronounced orange cast to the original photo.  Once I corrected the color cast the picture on the TV changed to a very drab color, so I did a layer mask to undo the color change on the TV picture.
Because I used Anna Aspnes' frame I was not able to put this layout in the Creative Team's gallery.

I can't decide which I like more!

Looking at both the layouts, I can't decide which I like more.  Think I like the larger cluster, but like how the elements show up on the darker paper.  I think the lighter paper compliments the photo more -- yikes!!

Second go 'round...

Went back to the original paper I was using and reduced the size of the frame cluster.  I think I'm done.  I posted it anyway.

Messing around...

I fell in love with a layout by a CT member and got the same kit to try to scraplift the layout.  I can't figure out how she got the color background paper because it's not in the kit, so she blended it somehow to get a different color.  I'm using the RadLab photo of Alexis again.  I'm still tinkering with the background color.  This is one rendition.

AHA! A layout that is not Pixels and Company

I've been watching some tutorials on RadLab and I decided to tackle a great picture of Alexis that had terrible coloring.  I wanted to do a dreamy masked layout which probably wouldn't use any P&C product since that is not their style.  I have lots of other kits that would work.  I accidentally came across this cropping with the mask and decided I loved it even though it cut off a lot of the RadLab effects.  I'll post the original photo.  I might even be able to post the RadLab doctored photo, I have to dig it out of the psd layout.  And then you'll see the final layout.

I tried another extraction after I watched a video on how to use the magic extractor.  It wasn't as easy as the video, big surprise!  The overall vision for the layout was realized, but the technical execution is a little lacking.

I beat the 3/14 release date!

I saw this kit tonight which will be released in two days and I knew it was perfect for Ewan since he loves planets and space stuff.  I managed to get it done in less than 90 minutes AND it has Ewan's favorite color, orange!

The other CT layout...

I just HAD to use Tiffany's template, so I just worked it out with Creashen's kit titled Rumpus.  Her kit is very cutesy and was a little hard to work into the rather edgy template.  I think I did a pretty good job of blending the two.

New CT Layouts

I did two layouts today for my CT duty.  I needed to use a Tiffany Tillman template since she is my assigned designer, but she hasn't posted anything new in the shop this month.  I selected an older set of templates that I don't already have.  They are pretty edgy hence the name Avant Garde.  None of them worked with the photo of me and Vivi at the Lincoln memorial so I abandoned that and just used the large photo and Celeste's kit, Noted.

March Speed Scrap

I used a variety of bits and pieces from
Gennifer Bursett, Stolen Moments Design, Wishing Well Creations, Anita Designs, Sabrina Creations [All from P&C] I recolored a bunch of it.
Fonts: Myriad Pro, Pacifico, Traveling Typewriter

I participated in the speed scrap this week-end.  The leader gives a list of supplies needed and then a description of the layout she put together and we are supposed to duplicate her layout as close as possible without seeing it.  It's a bit restrictive compared to how they were done at Jessica's.
I was determined to use the brown polka dot paper, so that dictated the other choices.  I ended up adding the photos last and chose this one of Brian and me.  I've used it before.  I need some new ones of us.  Maybe I can get them during my new class that starts on the 17th.

A birthday layout...

Lexie sent me the pictures tonight of Vivi's birthday party.  This one caught my eye because of the joy on Vivi's face.

A really busy layout....

The owner of the site called for a layout using a new kit, so I got busy today.  After I was done, I realized I could not have made it any busier.
