I just got this kit named, Unfortunate Events.  It's a bit on the dark side, but I thought it would work for a masculine layout.  I had lots of time to complete the LO, 24 hours, but I got it together pretty quickly.

I had to do some cloning on the photo to get rid of the BRIGHT computer screen.  The journaling would have allowed it to stay though.  Oh, well.....

New Batch of October 31 Days of AJ

This one was about Love.  I made it something of a Bible AJ because we all need love and the best is from God.

I don't use many of the AJ templates that come with the M3 monthly kits, so I dug one out for this challenge.  I used a LOT of cards by Nancie Rowe Janitz since she is a guest designer at the Lilypad this month.  I have a lot of stuff by her from Jessica Sprague's old site.

Day 28 - First Thing That Comes To Mind, Scrap About It

Nancie Rowe Janitz is the newest resident designer at The Lilypad.  I have many of her designs from when I used Jessica's site as my main shopping store.  Now I can use her things in the Lilypad gallery.  This challenge LO uses everything from Nancie.

Truth be told nothing really came to mind when I first read the prompt and I didn't have time to scrap anyway.  I finally decided to just do what appealed to me from Nancie's kits.  This is what came out.

The Lilypad October Challenge Layouts

I'm trying to get caught up on the October challenges since the end of the month is fast approaching.  I used some kits I hadn't used yet.

First up is the BYOC Challenge.  I actually bought some kits to use for this because I happen to really like them.  These acetate alphas by Heather Joyce are some of my favorites.  The templates are really useful, too.  I followed the template with only minor changes.

This next challenge was to lift one of your own layouts from the past.  I chose a layout that had gotten a GSO.  It is very different due to the colors and prints even though I followed it EXACTLY.  I was glad that I still had the psd file, so it was really like using a template.

This last layout was for the White Space Challenge.  At least 50% of the page has to be white space.  I have made a few Vivian pages, so I wanted to get one of Ewan for this.  I just bought a kit from Etc. by Danyale called Nature's Painting and I have several photos from Rachel of their hiking trips so it was a natural choice.

I love Danyale's kits so much and I'm seriously hoping she stays at The Lilypad after her guest spot is up at the end of this month.  I have bought dozens of her designs and want to be able to use them to a long while.

This challenge is the Random Challenge with the theme of close-ups.  I wanted to do another Ewan page and the expression on his face in this photo has always tickled me.  He looks so uncomfortable in his costume, yet willing to wear it.

Gina put out a new release for today.  It's based on the movie trilogy "Back To The Future".  I used the word art as my inspiration for the layout.  I was really drawn to the bold graphic paper and set it onto some hexagon masks.  There weren't very many elements that weren't movie specific so I gather a couple buttons from another kit.

I must be crazy!!!!

I've made two pages for the 30 Days of AJ challenges, posted to layouts to 8 different galleries and THEN I decided to do a Polly Pick's challenge.  I must be crazy!!  I had so many of Nancy's picks and I used one that was a template.  It went together quickly but now I'm dead for the rest of the day.  Good thing I donated the first hour of this day to Bible study and prayer.

 My plan was to use the words fun run as a mask for the  photo but the photo didn't show up well at all.  I placed the photo behind the lettering and reduced the opacity on the words over Vivian.  I like this result much better.

It has been fun to use the challenge for my Bible art journaling.  This was inspired by the notes to my BSF lesson this week.  I've been stewing for 3 days about what to do on it but this was TRUE inspiration.

I used all Sissy Sparrows since they will be retiring from the shop and evidently designing at the end of the month which is a shame since I have a boatload of their designs and they work so well with art journaling.
