DSD Photography Challenge

I've been wanting to take these photos of the spider webs for the longest time.  I noticed the webs were breaking, so I got on it one evening.  It was the golden hour which is supposed to be the best time.  The setting sun caused some challenges.  The photography challenge was the perfect time to make the layout.  I was supposed to get a photo with an unusual perspective.  I love it.

DSD Challenges

DSD stands for Digital Scrapbooking Day.  Pixels & Company is doing a bunch of games and challenges.  In order to support the website I'm trying to do as many as possible.  The template challenge went pretty easy because they got me started with a template, duh!
 I am really happy with how it turned out; here it is:

It turns out that the card/block to the right of the photo is like a Journal Card that another CT designed for her challenge.  The challenge was to include it in a layout.  Since I had something so similar to it in on this layout, I just used it again.  Two challenges with one layout -- cool!

The next challenge was a Journaling List Challenge.  You were to list facts about yourself and there had to be as many as half your age.  That meant 33 facts for me.  Once I picked my photo, it was easy to come up with the info; just took a long time because there were 33!  It is nearly all journaling.  I think it is crazy cool!

The next challenge is my own.  Since I was assigned hybrid project yet AGAIN and Sarah said we could use any challenge we did towards our commitment, I decided to do a hybrid challenge.  I went with something super easy -- a greeting card.  Here's the card I did.  It is completely digital (lazy, I know).  Because it is printed and made into a physical card it still counts as hybrid.

I made it 8.5 x 11 and constructed two on the layout.

A call for November stash layouts...

A call went out for more layouts using the November stash.  One of the designers is my assigned designer.  There is a lot of purple in the stash this month.  I generally do not like purple, but went with it anyway.  Here is the layout for my assigned designer.  I had to do it in a hurry.  If I had more time, I probably would have gone for a more subtle paper instead of the pink.

I did the other layout after getting home from Lexie's house.  Brian and I babysat so Greg could go on an interview and we stayed until Lexie got home from work.  It was so nice to spend the afternoon with Vivian.  This one is pretty late for the designer to use in her newsletter, etc, but I did get it done before the release.  Again, more purple....

October Challenge #1 - Mixed Media Monthly [M3]

This is my offering for the first challenge for October.  The challenge was to use the theme home, nurture or cozy.  I thought Lexie's new home would be perfect.

I decided to renew my subscription for another 4 months.  It has taken a few days for the pricing to get worked out at TLP.  I have really enjoyed all the art journaling it has prompted me to do.

I tried to make a signature for the TLP forum.  All the others there have cool ones.  I followed the tutorial as best I could.  This is a tryout so see what it looks like.
I made one with a white background and one transparent.

The last layout for the October challenges at TLP is the Random Challenge.  It is a telephone game.  I was sent a copy of someone's layout and my job was to scraplift it.  It was very springlike but I didn't go that route.  The first picture is a copy of the one I needed to scraplift.

I studied two tutorials to do the photo treatment.  I had put a complete layout together using Pixels & Company supplies, when I got the private message at TLP for the Random Challenge telephone game.  I decided to use the photo, but had to completely change the layout and use predominately supplies from The Lilypad.  Here is my take on the layout:

P & C Layouts

I've done 5 layouts for Pixels & Co.  One is for my assigned designer and 4 are just to help other designers -- and to scrap photos I want to preserve.

First up is the one for my assigned designer, Scooty's Designs.  She is a guest so I'm not sure how long she will be with the site.  I used one of her mini kits and one of her templates.  I was drawn to the gray and lime green.

 This layout uses a blending technique where I used some stamps as a mask for paper.  You can see the houses from the paper in the bubble stamp mask.  Love the photo of  Ewan and myself.

I fell in love with the blue flower in this kit and the rolled brown flower.  I made the birds look like a stamp that is pressed on several depths.  I love the color palette.  Lexie's house looks great with it.

I just discovered this FABULOUS kit.  The colors are divine!

 This layout features some journaling blocks I turned into frames.  I used the warping technique I learned recently to give a curled effect.
