Scraplift Saturday at Designer Digitals

The challenge today gave me a chance to use some of the new products I got during the 3rd quarter sale at Designer Digitals.  I love the combination of the new papers I got.  I used a couple of the $.99 items, too.

To get a good crop of the photo I had to duplicate it and flip the second photo horizontally to mesh the pond area into a longer version.  After merging the two, I did some cloning to make the reflection more accurate and less obvious of my technique.

iTunes Inspiration Challenge at Designer Digitals

At first I didn't think I would do this challenge since the inspiration piece didn't excite me.  Katie Pertiet made a freebie to go with it that I wasn't all that thrilled with either since it looked a lot like the inspiration piece.  BUT I decided to give it a try and found the PERFECT photo to go into the layout and now I LOVE it.  Here is the inspiration piece:

Jen Maddocks is releasing individual kits and bundles at The Digital Press (last one as her guest spot draws to a close) and Digital Scrapbooking Studio.

Lynn Grieveson Designs has several kits releasing at The Lilypad.  I used two of them to make two layouts that are as different as day and night.

Amy Wolff was having severe computer troubles (crash, boom, DEAD) but has gotten a new one and put together a most interesting Wolff Pack set of kits for this month.  It is good to see her in action again.

Template Mash-Up! Double Up Challenge at Designer Digitals

I had to buy two template kits from Studio DoubleD for this challenge.  They are still on sale so I didn't mind.  There are real elements used to make the template which can be used again and again so that makes them a great buy.  I combined the two template into one page.

I deleted one column of circle frames and the blue and red elements to make room for the large frame from the other template.  I moved some elements around for balance.  I changed the overall color scheme to a rust and brown theme.

September Challenge at Designer Digitals

I've discovered the challenges at a digital scrapbooking store I've shopped at over the years but had NEVER posted a layout or participated in the forum.  I came across the challenges on a fb page of one of my digi "friends".  I followed a link and viola! I made my version of a VERY POPULAR pin (it gets repinned from my board at least 6-7 times a week). The origin is by Melissa Baillache. It was for the Dance Noir: Mirror Ball. Invitation for Sydney Dance Company's annual fundraising ball.

I used no products on this other than what PSE provides but the inspiration to finally make my version came from TLP September Style Challenge so I hope it qualifies for the gallery.

MIS (Make It Snappy) at The Lilypad

I love this challenge at The Lilypad because you get a new template just for playing (if you get a layout done in 24 hours).  I love the challenge to get it done in 75 minutes for a chance to win $10 at Scrapping with Liz's store.  I did win once.
